PIAA disaster – have your say

Yesterday this picture was posted of Pet Industry Association of Australia president Steve Austin smiling with two friends as he holds a dead feral cat dangling by its neck off a piece of white rope.

There was an uproar of anger and disgrace from fellow animal advocacy groups, animal lovers and members of the public who left an awful lot of comments on the picture and who have now demanded the resignation of the president of Australia’s peak pet trade industry association.

PIAA chief executive officer Roger Perkins has defended Mr Austin, saying “The cats had been humanely shot and they were having a bit of fun at the end of a long day”.

Steve Austin is better known as one of Australia’s top dog trainers and can be credited for his work in dog training which has seen him train animals for quarantine, search and rescue, police work and wildlife preservation, among other things.

I’d love to hear what everyone is thinking, for or against the topic of concern! Any comments submitted via the from below will not be seen publicly so feel free to say what you think.
